并列連詞把兩個(gè)或兩個(gè)以上的互相關(guān)連而又互相獨(dú)立的獨(dú)句(即簡(jiǎn)單句)連在一起而構(gòu)成的句子叫并列句。其結(jié)構(gòu)是簡(jiǎn)單句+并列連詞+簡(jiǎn)單句。

(1)聯(lián)合并列句常由并列詞and， not only…， but also…等連接。

Use your hand， and you’ll find a way.

(2)轉(zhuǎn)折并列句常由并列連詞but， while， yet， whereas， nevertheless等連接。

I would love to have gone to the party last night but I had to work extra hours to finish a report.

(3)選擇疑問句常由并列連詞 or， otherwise， either…or… 等連接。

Either you leave this house or I’ll call the police

(4)因果并列句由并列連詞 so， for， therefore 等連接。

It was late， so we went home.

(5)在“祈使句+and / or+陳述句”結(jié)構(gòu)中，當(dāng)前后兩部分間為承接關(guān)系時(shí)，用and；前后意思為相反關(guān)系時(shí)，用or。

Hurry up， and we’ll be there in time.

= If we hurry up， we’ll be there in time.

(6)because和so， although， though和but不能連用。
